Also wind flow allignment over the body of water-

Sorry that's not possible, these are 2 opposing forces, they may merge (highly doubtful), morel likely the blob will veer South into France before the front arrives which I think will then do some sort of swirly thing around the centre of the low?

Yes this is the right region, I am North Surrey ish

only time will tellblum.gif

Looking at radar, I reckoned the blob should be making landfall by now in the EA thread,

so I looked:

and

Front edge of the precipitation band has just moved over my house according to the radar and..............

Nothing outside, yet

...I didn't find ;(

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

You would certainly need Uppers of -12c or lower for Lake Effect Snow, and a differential of at least 20c from SSTS's to Air Temperature (eg 7c SST And probably -12c Air Temps.

I did post a few days ago what the different Streamers were called.

ENE = Thames Streamer

NNE = Kent Clipper

NE = Kent Slapper

We will be having a Kent Slapper on our hands tonight.

All places from Herne Eastwards, maybe Medway Towns and this exiting into the English Channel!

Being in Surrey, am I in the right region. Everyone in here seems to be Essex/Kent

Nope, I'm in Surrey too and it seems no-one is too concerned about us getting too much snow! search.gif

Haha, just watched the Countryfile forecast, and at no point during the week will we get any snow at all here apparently, after the potential of fizzled out front tonight.

Technically you only need the air temp to be 13 °C lower than the temperature of the air at the surface at an altitude where the air pressure is 850 millibars to create precip. Obviously at certain temps the precip is lake/sea effect snow rather than rain

So is it a Kent clipper? I like them!

..assuming its not "ghost" radar.

The worrying thing is that where the blob has apparently made landfall in EA, no-one in that thread is reporting snow.

But there are still a few flakes in the breeze in Ashford.

All the twitter updates today have said light snow, pathetic effort, that sort of thing. I would like *pelting* snow at 06h00 tomorrow
