I'm even more west of London and I'm not even sure I should be on this thread! However I'm included in the Met Office London and South East, so here I am.

The front looks like it should be reaching me fairly soon as there's a blob that's making its way down between Oxford and London at the moment.

Will update if anything happens!

yes, please -- will be interested to see how the NW front approaches.

Raintoday radar prediction now says it never reaches Kent,, and slides off to the south, whilst we see airflow from the NOrth Sea still.

Can this be right????

Also interested in how the blob is manifesting on the N/NE kent coast. Radar says its arrived. Has it intensified?

The front in the west looks dead.

Will only be snizzle surely.

Everything seems to get downgraded the closer we get at the mo :(

Small flakes equal colder temps so that's good

Often they get big when it heats up

Anything falling in Lyminge Sarah? Just been and had a good stare at the lamp post and nothing here yet...

2.0c dew point -5c

We shall wait and and see .

Intensity will be the issue - need it to pep up as it comes over the Chilterns

Currently 1.4 degrees here in Orpington and just cloudy. Will be looking out window about 10.30pm to see if that snow moving Westwards from East Kent hits us but got a feeling it will fizzle out by time it gets here like the band coming from NW does as well.Getting bad feeling that the snow promised here about 24 hours will just be rain or maybe sleet(As is now forecast).Just hope the ENE flow that is tentatively forecast for Wednesday does happen and pushes snow showers far enough inland to reach us!!Trying to remain optimistic but just seem to be getting downgrade after downgrade as each snow event gets closer.

We shall see if rain today is right or nw radar, I know who my money is on.

The blob is going to France but will visit Margate down to Folkstone on the way,

On a side note, a tiny worry is the front coming from the NW is already starting to show bits of sleet in it.....

I am sooo jealous of the Kent contingent! Might I add that there are a lot of Kent-based folk on here. Am I the only SW Londoner? (On my own, with not the tiniest flake of snow....)

I am in West London... I thin we may get a dusting tonight and still reckon we will see something in the next two days, but we may well be frustrated by periods of less intense ppn which are likely to be more sleety/rain.

It all comes down to timing of the ppn and it's intensity.

Possibly but it will be very light.

I'm staying up till' 11 then blum.gif went outside with my really really bright torch and only picked up tiny tiny little things falling down, I don't think it's snow!

Looking very interesting Got 3 areas of ppn

1. the batch to NE

2. The blob

3. Formation in the wash

All heading this way, if the all merge could be a very interesting night ahead. glued to all the radars, NetW, Meto and Rain today

This screen grab shows the direction of the arrows overland so you can see why it is moving south but if you look further out over the north sea towards the top of the screen you can see this band of snow is further over and has a better chance of hitting us in mid Kent as it is pulled south by those winds. It is just will it get to us before the wind changes to a NW as is forecast or not. Lets hope as this PPN was not shown on any forecast i have seen this eve.

Based on the official airports forecast for Heathrow, City and Gatwick, everywhere should see a light dusting of snow but turning readily to rain tomorrow morning. I'll be very suprised if anywhere from London southwards gets anymore than a centimeter of actual ground cover by the end of the night.

Tomorrow morning? The rain isn't due to hit us until tomorrow afternoon when the 2nd front moves in....

The stuff moving of the North sea could have an impact on thee front but what that effect is I don't know :/

The stuff coming from the north sea is'nt making a impact on any thing at the minute!!!!
