Light sleet/snow here in Southend. Not doing a lot to be honest.

Temp: 1.8c

DP: -0.8c

Getting near the tipping point now. Need that PPN to get over here and fast.

you mean snizzle smile.png

Nah, this is worst than snizzlelaugh.png

Snizzle is actually very light proper snow, this comes nowhere close.

Still sleety here at the office in W10. Quite keen to hear more from Barnet, Harrow etc as the conditions there are likely to be more like those back home in Ealing. I would ring my son, but as he is at nursery over there I'm not sure he would be a reliable source biggrin.png

Well still snowing heavy with big fat flakes. Grass starting to get covered and settling on pavements now :) if this snow can carry on for another couple of hours then it should settle even more

Was snowing quite hard earlier but, has now turned to snizzile not settling

Looks like we have some snow for tonight and hopefully it will settle.

But I am not bothered if it doesn't but it would be nice for photos

jeez! how reliable is the nae model? met office have said nothing about that much snow for us.

It lookslike as the wrap around of the front happens it drags in colder 850 temps and the warmth of the thames too lookslike increasing the intensity of the front. We shall see.....

OK, it gets complicated but here are the various fronts moving through and expected times:

Not sure where he has got that idea from.

3-8mm of PPN (rain/snow) at the very best by midday tomorrow is what the NAE says.

wow this snow is heavy...Grass might get a covering at this rate

Yep, garden is white again. Roads are looking horribly slushy. Tonight could be horrible for ice.

I assume gritters will be out again in force this afternoon?

Thanks BarnetBlizzard - great news. We are usually one of the coldest boroughs in London due to vast amount of green space (we got the London record of -16c at Northolt in Dec 2010) so I am hopeful of a little covering when I get back tonight.

Moderate to heavy snow since 12.00 here

Grass covered nearly

Excellent news, thanks for the update. You are not far from me in Ealing - although I'm guessing you are at a higher altitude??
