Just curious, is the NMM data publicly available (if so does anyone have a link)? Ta.

For the UK the only way to get it is through NW extra, the French one is free, though that's probably not much use:

drizzly Norwegian forecast is out, and does actually hint at that Forth-Clyde streamer possibility the morn's night:

Confirmed!

Can't ever remember that happening before.

2010, it was better than we get in summer...and 2006!

As the light fades, light snow has begun in Crieff and it's lying immediately.

0.2ºC/-3ºC

Ran oot o toys - all launched frae pram. Nae even a dummy-tit left. Hee-haw snaw.

I am with you on that one. The 4.30pm Radar confirms nothing has changed. Showers hitting border Hills then disappearing. They are not going down via the Forth valley! I despair!

Well the GEM is excellent, haven't seen charts like these since the last apocalypse:

Sun explodes, it all goes dark, the next ice age starts immediately, perpetual snow (even for Edinburgh and the Central Belt) and Ian Brown disappears into a snowhole never to be seen again.

Bring it on.

Found this on Google http://www.meteocenter.eu/WRF-forecast/EU/Europe.html seems to incorporate/hybrid of NMM WRF and shows our region.

Not sure about the resolution detail though.

Couple views of the front further south. Looks a pretty strong front. Shame it likes part of England and Wales but no us. Bustard.

That last part has me thinking of an image like the recent Stephen Hawking "Go Compare" ad!

We seem to be between snow streamers here at the moment but I have a hunch things will change later on - somewhere in th east will get pasted this evening and overnight I think.

Permission for minor girn.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21062981

A useful* interactive clickable map from the EBC BBC. Would have been even more useful if they'd remembered that the UK exists north of the midlands, though for once, they do appear to be getting a whumphing 'darn sarf'. Bless them, the puir wee sowels.

Girn over.

*almost as 'useful' as the Beeb's 5 day forecast.

Snawing stopped a while ago but not back on - but now it's evening the Lamposts are in action and on duty.

The radar looks to me like the showers are coming a bit more inland now? Fingers crossed those big blobs heading towards Edinburgh may just head more central after.

I don't bloody want it anyway. Its bloody English snow, imported from across the border. Seems like SS, Catch and others have sold out though.nea.gif

I don't want anything settling here in Embra until its 100% sourced and convected from Scottish territorial waters. End of story.spiteful.gif

Embra South Suburban Lamp Post reporting for duty!

Er. Nothing to see here, move along please, nothing to see.... :p

But i have faith in LS and confidently expect by Monday night to be gazing at a world of white (even if this means I have to bandage my eyes with strips of white cloth...)
