Heavy drifting snow really piling up, looks about 3 inches. -0.1c. Snow settling Aberystwyth on Webcam always a good sign!

this is a second hand rumour though, via a friend of the wife's, so it's subject to further non gossipy type confirmation. biggrin.png

just spoke to my sister and she has got to work from cwmfelin to bridgend hosp, but had to ditch the car on sarn duel, she said lorry was being towed and cars left there and she had to do the same and walk to hospital, but she said paper mills road was passable. she said sarn area was very bad

Morning everyone, still snowing here unable to judge how much snow we have had as it is really windy and got snow stuck to the windows there is about 2 inches piled on se facing window sills but doesn't look that deep on the car roofs. We have had a power cut during the night hoping we don't have another one.

Still coming down nicely here. Radar look as if it will be over in a couple of hours for Cardiff (as others have said already), but MetO forecast (@7am) still showing heavy snow in Cardiff 'til mid afternoon, followed by light snow for a while. Would appreciate any thoughts on this :S

Likewise, Barry has heavy snow forecast up to 9pm......not to sure on this, unless the front stalls

Al if you look at the forecast for barry it has the red warning symbol next to the 3hr timelines

I think its going to stall, so any precipitation is likely to 'catch' up with the rest making snow more prolonged and heavier.

Carol Kirkwood's BBC forecast showed residual snow in southeast Wales even on Sunday with Monday's weather looming large in the Atlantic.

4-6 inches lying here as an estimate.

Met Office still showing heavy snow until 9pm for AberG. Wow if this keeps up then totals will be impressive.

Snow here is heavy but maybe not even a cm built up yet, can't see it amounting to much here!

Yep, agree - no doubt about that. Everything playing out as forecasted. Can't see why the stall will be any different.

It has not stopped here since 2:45am! Good accumulations outside...may measure in a bit. Hubby made it to work this morning in merthyr...told me he has never driven in such horrendous conditions. Im hoping they let him home early as no doubt it is worse there than it is here.
