Wheres the stall?

Ditto - loving the snow we've got at the moment, but worried that it's moving through too quickly. Someone please convince me that it's going to slow down or stall completely.

Look at the showers after the main band's gone through, they are building up

Snow dieing out in Pembrokeshire, been snowing since 2.30am and looks a pretty good covering. Out of towns is chaos, a lot of downed trees and power lines

The precipitation is being reinforced from the SW all the time, currently.

The 'main band' passed through here a couple of hours ago and yet it's been sleeting/snowing heavily since then. Also although the precipitation seems to be moving quickly within the band, the actual band is not actually moving east very quickly. I think there's a lot of legs left in this yet for areas further east of here. Forecasts have been pretty good, so far, imo...

Morning all

Never doubted it! Temp 3.5c at 0130hrs. 0.1c now. A good 2-3 inches already and this thing is going to crawl all over us for hours yet.

School is closed but i'm going to walk the three miles in to get the A level exams started.

Shocking luck for them (and me!) Exams on a 'snowday.' cray.gif

Keep an eye on those showers behind that band....it could become a SMALL feature...

Good cover of snow here in Hwest, starting to sleet now however but Pembrokeshire sounds like utter chaos currently

Just checked the NMM and according to that the front should start to stall any moment now, although the precipitation will gradually weaken and become lighter through the day.

Nothing better opening the curtains and the window is piled high with snow from the SE wind. The thaw begins now, however

Yes the back edge is coming across swiftly, and with it being daytime could cause a thaw for sw Wales, hopefully it will stall but looks quite progressive.

there is a bit of snow here , started about 4 oclock, with very fine snow still snowing but not as much as i thought we would have had, all roads are clear .

if there is a stall does that give us heavier snow ,
