Its a bit tricky to tell at the moment, the mean flow is WNW at the moment, but you have more of a Northerly component to it south of the Thames, then a more NWly component into the east of Essex, becoming more of a direct West flow as it moves towards the M11.

To me it looks like in the area between Stansted and Cambridge, its heading directly west towards the M1at present.

Getting slightly lighter again here at the moment as I'm right on the southern periphery of the heavier stuff

SK

Looks like we could do well out of this if it keeps up... our own streamer

Thanks for the reply.

there is some WNW shift, as you say. area around Wellingborough, Northants was clear about 1 hour ago. now it's on the door step.

Cheers, Again!

Hasn't stopped snowing here, albeit turned light 6-9pm, but is getting towards moderate again now.

Floaty - so that's where the washer-reservoir is! I often wonder where the water goes when I top up - it just seems to disappear!

If this area of green stretching to the coast keeps growing and moving north west, dare I say it, us in Cambs could be in for another hour or two of moderate snowfall clapping.gif

Light here now, odd flurry. not complaining though after today, looking at 12 cm with a bit more on the grass 15cm+

Better news from the GFS 18z run for Sunday; keeps the ppn all as snow until late evening when it turns a little sleety right on the coast. East Anglia takes the brunt of it too; maybe the sweet spot will be in Cambs but all areas of the region would get a fair bit from this.

No doubt things will change again but let's hope it's upgrades!

This is the first time in all of my 20 years of living in the benign uneventful weather type area known as Huntingdonshire, that a streamer from the Thames has delivered snow here!

Just ran the NW radar through an animation, could be good for a couple of hours of snow I reckon for parts of Cambs and Essex and perhaps Northants.
