Beautiful big fat flakes constantly falling, moderate to heavy. Three inches on the patio table. Got to go pick up the eldest from school in Stoke so got to brave the M6, eeeek! :-(

It is slowing down now, if it pivots then it will pull away from the region. It needs to advance and stall really.

Some very light snow in the wind, whether this is the part of the main band who knows as its still showing up as being South of us.

No i dont think it is, ithink i may get some of the main band when it has weakened later!!!

Im not sure you can blame the met office, merseyside is in the amber warning which = 10cm which was issued 24 hours ago so well forecasted TBH.

and 15 cm in western most areas...still recon they are bang on.

you know, this is very likely to be a good 20/25cm snowfall by the end of it...its stalling at sheffield, the mersey is just keeping this going, there is intensification

in this front and the fact it can easily pull in moisture..this could be a once in a generation snowfall event, beating 2010 easily for this area

it wont pull away from the region, but it will sink furth south and west.

Still heavy small flakes here, but its starting to build up a nice covering on roads/grass etc... if this continues for a few more hours could end up with 5cm at least

i seen it worse to be honest, I like the fact we had snow but its just not making a huge impact here now in haydock, just went out and its 2 cm 3 in drifts which is good for our area but no need for my spade :(

Well going by GFS the front stalls and pivots out across the Dublin area, so I won't expect to be seeing much in the way of advancement for the next 6 hours at least. Well slow but surely before the front wraps around itself and heads back on down through the Irish Sea.
