The front has stalled, but a 'stretching' effect has caught my eye looking on last 4 hours on netw radar. As it stalls the moisture looks to be stretched out. We have the heaviest snow in the country from this band, but other areas do seem to be showing a weakening.

Play the sequence on NW Extra.

Trust me it's moving slowly north East, Oldham is now in the very light stuff and it's getting slightly heavier all the time....... I doubt it will move any more north east with the intensity of the south west of our region.

What part of Preston are you in Nick, my wife is at home today and there's nothing there at the moment. Home is east Preston near Jn31a.

Bah humbug, non event for here looks like my 3cm will have to do for another winter, Lol

Hopefully the Atlantic crashes through next week, at least it will give us a decent cover before turning to rain.

Still coming down, small flakes, seems the heavier band is just edging upto the M6 so, about 12.30 then if it doesnt stall for Alty

We have about 3cm max but swirling in the biting wind

I've got to say, it does make a change for us. We're always the ones to miss out. And thankfully the school bus is bringing my daughter home so I don't have to brave the M6 afterall, whoop!

Flakes getting smaller...

Its very slow moving when you consider it has been moderate to heavy here for over 3 hours, apparently virtually nothing at Ashbourne and thats only 25 miles East of Stoke.

Only light snow here for the last 30 mins.

I think the band that is over us is starting to lose intensity so we can do with another pulse coming.
