The ECM is stunning again this evening! Keeping us cold and wintry for next week!

Looks like another small wedge of HP to our north will keep LP on a generally NW > SE track and the Arctic high is getting stronger too and keeping its dominance at the pole. Any signs of breakdown are firmly in FI. Good to see imo.

Ugh Diane. That was atrocious. I don't know where tht radar image was from but that was certainly not the up to date one!

lol - she just had to pick the worst possible animation - who knows it may pan out like that but something tells me she cherry picked the least snowy option for the North West on Sunday/Monday lol... barely kissing the extreme eastern areas.

Sorry Sp,I didn't want to sound sarcastic with this comment but I just have no confidence in the models and TBH neither do the TV weather presenters.

Just watched Diane Oxberry on about Sunday and she mentioned a threat of snow in the region from the front heading up from the SE whilst the time line behind her showed it get no closer than York as it headed up towards Newcastle.

To me that sums up the situation at present.

Snowing again in Sandbach. I think this band is merging with the one coming up from Stoke. I think this is heading to South Manchester. Gaps really filling in again.

ppn looks intense coming over from Ireland - the East coast has some excellent streamers too.

Heaviest fall of today near Wilpshire now

Radar very interesting for Northern UK.

As regards the METO Amber alert issued yesterday thought it looked well spot on.
