Very light dandruff-like snow here for the past 45 minutes - perhaps it's starting to edge northwards now.

Wind has suddenly picked up.

I think you've just been in a lull for a while, which is unlucky...it's still edging northwest as far as I can tell...which is good news for you because it should put you back under the heavy stuff soon.

Edit: Sorry, should add while still pivoting, the heavy stuff will approach from the east/north east!

Yep, it's gotten slightly heavier again now. Really blowing about in the wind, too.

Just down the road from me people in Sedgley getting heavy snow and in Stourbridge.

Cant understand why it is so light here. Will I get any of the heavier stuff?

Still sticking quite well here, although not quickly, so about 2-3cm so far. Strangely enough there's one black car down my road that it will not stick to at all! My red Aygo is covered and I'm only parked two spaces away!

Black objects are better absorbers of heat.

As a newbie to the site - can someone explain to me why snow does not stick one moment and then it does - even on wet pavement/road - is it connected to the dew point temp?

Got heavier in Stoke over the last 15 minutes, still only light stuff, but now enough of it to start covering the patches that the wind had kept clear on the patio on Friday...I'll just wait and see. Raintoday now has this looking like it will be too far south and spreading eastwards (as it always was) to keep going much beyond 5pm....?

Watch and wait I suppose!
