the colour tone on the radars darkened between 8-15 and 8-30. makes it look as though the whole lot went more intense.(which it didnt). also makes it tougher to follow where it might be intensifying as the scale is, in effect, recalibrated at 8-15.

Just a quickie to explain the rest of the day.

The lighter band currently across us is expected to expand and intensify this morning whilst at the same time the area of snow to our SE continues to move WNW. Areas such as Cromer in the NE of this region could have a bit of a wait until it arrives this afternoon.

Heaviest snowfalls predicted by the NAE suggest a line from Norwich to Peterborough although only be a few cm.

Nothing in Colchester still but then I wasn't expecting anything until at least 10am.

Any idea on the east coast situation?

Seems a mix of opinions on whether it will be marginal or not.

What rain alarm do you use? Did you say you had it as an app?

Beginning to fall here, looks like the snow was doing it's best to avoid visiting Braintree, and to be honest I don't blame it...

At work driving around East Anglia all day, so will try and use my phone to keep in touch with what's going on here regarding snow disruption. So far no snow, and incredibly clear roads. Perfect.

Not sure how a system that's moving NW could be giving snow in Braintree, Chelmsford, St.Albans etc but nothing around Colchester. After Friday paranoia is setting in.
