i see their throwing their toys out of their prams in the model thread to-night!!

I hope you have not been provoking them. Apart from a few noteable exceptions they are very sensitive and have to be protected from the real world. I believe the government is setting up special therapy departments to be funded from deductions from the METO budget.

During the middle-ages two wizards John Dee and Edward Kelley argued constantly about the best way to produce gold by the use of alchemy (I'm not making this up), neither was successful in their endeavors. Going by the Netweather Model thread very little has changed in the last 500 years.

18z NAE Precip Totals:

13012112_2_1918.gif

Heavier totals showing now across N and E areas of this region, with some spot totals of 14mm around Suffolk, broadly 7-12mm.....would hope that translates into the same number of cm's :)

And one in the Chelmsford area if the curry I have just had comes to pass.

On a serious note Yes and No. Too much to do outside to want snow.

Fair bit lost out front in the road, mainly on cars and path, while in the garden, there hasn't been much of a melt. How about your snow cover? Also, confident about tomorrow?

Met haven't updated warnings etc since earlier in the day, I suspect amber warnings may be pulled out tomorrow morning if the radar is similar to the models.

Heavier pulse heading NW up through the Thames Estuary, into the Midlands earlier than progged by 12z.

So far so good, and i'm doing a bit of head scratching as to why BBC Forecasts are suggesting just 2-4cms this evening....IMO, double that and you've got a decent estimate

Still got quite a bit off covering but some melt has happend,i would say around 6 to 8 cm here and there with drifting .Still the house backs on to open farm field and The m1 lol. As for tomorrow i think this regional thread will do very well,But like you say 6-7cm more than happy. Radar on am.

We are beginning to see steady upgrades to the amount of energy heading WNW out of the Thames Estuary as the day goes on. From left to right, here's the 6z, 12z and 18z prognosis:

13012018_1906.gif13012018_1912.gif13012018_1918.gif

This has lead to a steady increase in forecast totals through the day:

13012106_1906.gif13012106_1912.gif13012106_1918.gif

Of course this could all be wrong from the NAE, and I would hazard a guess it must be the UKV that is suggesting the smaller totals being put forward in current BBC forecasts, but given the raw NAE output, i'm struggling to see 2-4cms as the final outcome
