We'll find out in the next couple of hours whether the Peaks and Pennines are going to be a barrier for those West of the hills. There's never usually a problem with weather fronts crossing the Pennines from West to East but when it comes to going East to West it's a different matter!

It looks like very light snow here, prelude to the the none event i'm sure. That snow to the south of the region sure has lost intensity and has fragmented.

Light snow falling here, and sticking to cars. Good sign. The precipitation has intensified rather than lose strength as it comes up against the Peak Districk areas.

Unexpected but I think there's a LLC trying to develop (or has) to the south of the region with the PPN towards Sheffield making more of a westerly motion now, there I was looking South and not taking into account a quick loop check. Bodes well for us Pennine'rs with the same PPN maintaining intensity if not more the past 40 mins.

The batch coming from Sheffield and Lincolnshire looks good. I think it will cross the hills with relative ease.

So we have snow falling in and around the hillier areas biggrin.png

Now will it continue to spread into the rest of the region?

technically the radar is showing light ppn over most of Manchester City now so that has already crossed over the Snake Pass area
