Looking at 12z obs, air tem[s generally 1C in the London area and 1-3C over areas to the south and east of the capital now, still freezing or below across the northern and western Home Counties.

Interestingly, although temps are up to +3C towards east Kent, dew points are dropping off, with -2C dp across E Kent, hinting at drier air moving in from the SE/E as Paul indicated earlier.

Clutching at straws guys !

The ppn don't look like reaching the southeast

It might clip Surrey but I'd say the eastern extent will be reading

if u compare the nae, nmm and the gfs high res u can clearly see that things are far from nailed at this point - in terms of where, when and what!

therefore, there is some interest in how this evening and tonight pans out

Hope that precip does not reach the Thames Estaury, still have a full cover with some 4-5cm in most spots in the back garden, in fact building a Mega Snowman when the youngest gets back from School.

Would rather have no precip at all if its gunna be rain!

Distinct thaw and lots of dripping this afternoon near Leatherhead at 75m asl.

Looking out for wintry ppn this evening with interest, not really expecting anything.

Any know what Fri holds, the iPhone weather app still had day temps below zero here? Said -3c now -2c. Now that's rare for here but not much has been said about this. Perhaps the app is based a raw data?

Been looking at the front moving in from the west. Moved considerably more east since yesterday and curling around the South - any chance it might clip the London Region, Kent?

Definitely something approaching from the channel now and it looks like London is definitely in the firing line at present. Just hope by the time it hits temps will be down.

Well the big thaw is on in Benny Hill but it still feels cold as the wind has cranked up a bit through the morning. Wet slush grey sky and cold wind - the big downside of a snow event in the SE..... sorry.gif

Been a slow thaw all day here, and now it's just started raining :-(

Ohh well, it was nice whilst it lasted, and so the hunt for the next lot of snow begins.

Thank god we still have another 5 weeks of Winter still to come :-)

2.6 degC and it's starting to thaw quite quickly. TBH that's a good thing as I can't go running at the moment for fear of breaking my neck!
