Last post from me this evening.

Again looking at radar and reports its tricky working out what will happen especially as the radar is playing up. Seems everything from rain, freezing rain, sleet, heavy snow is possible and again from reports its the intensity of the precip that is deciding this. I read a report of someone witnessing the temps dropping from 1.5C to 0.8C due to heavy snow falling.

A few cm so far tonight on top of the 4 inches still laying from previous falls. No thaw this evening whatsoever and the rain that fell was freezing rain.

So in the morning you could find slight accumulations, a thaw, or even heavy falls! Seems its a Lotto tonight and its who gets lucky with the heaviest precip.

I think some will be really happy later,Some will be un-happy. So to love the weather GODS to grant the UK ,Especially (3 Counties East Anglia Thread) to Score 10-out-10. However, Boring UK with its Boring UK Rubbish Spells Boring and Frustrated mood for Many,Lets live up to expectations and thrive,Then again lets pray for a miracle.. . . . They do happen.good.gif

Well, most people here have gone to bed just when the fun starts!

We have a Snow to Rain to Snow event - Temps have dropped back to 0.4C

Back to where we started in Rushden. 1-2cm early on that got washed away by the sleet between 10pm-12am (other than on top of the existing snow) to now 1-2cm again. Could do with it picking up a bit.

is that it, 2 hours of drizzle and then 15 mins of moderate rain

what an anti climax

Typically in Rushden we are 0.5-1C colder than in Bedford, my son is at nursery in Melchborne and the one morning this week when the cloud did break, the car thermometer read -11C at 8am there. Once down Kimbolton Road into Bedford town centre it was -2C. Rushden is a much bigger town nowadays, but on a level playing field does get more snow. More rural and 200ft higher.
