bit of a lull in the snow at the moment ,much lighter but quite hard to tell in the wind.

Seems heavy by me still, flakes are smaller than earlier but it's settling because there's a layer already on the ground. :)

Considering how far west I am and nothing on the radar and it's still snowing moderatly and settling on all surfaces here in the Amman Valley quite happy if we can keep this constant feed of precip then we could have a little top up :)

This part of the heavy ppn band has intensified, can it hit Cardiff?

Just been out and measured and have currently got nearly 9 inches cover on my decking - not a drift btw! That's since Friday and we haven't had much thawing! Wonder how much I'll have by the morning! It's still absolutely chucking it down!

Heavy snow now falling after the moderate snow we had for 10min!

Can anyone tell me, how long the heavier snow fell on Friday for Cardiff?

Latest NAE and GFS have heavy snow/ppm for SE Wales! With the ppn charts showing 9-16mm for the morining which is equivalent to 9-16cm! This then goes onto adding a further 2mm on top at 12pm!

More info as the NAE updates its ppn type after!

NW Extra radar now enticingly showing the precip almost touching my postcode. I'm expecting it to stall about a mile to the east of my house, otherwise I'll have to eat my words about the snowy spell being over for my location.

hi all I just came back from Glamorgan uni with daughter and its snowing quite a bit up there and sticking, the new road from there to llantrisant sticking on the very top, little bit in llantrisant sticking, then sticking a lot on the east side of gilfach and on top but strange not a lot sticking on blackmill side of gilfach? then blackmill Lewistown and ogmore vale not sticking, get to nantymoel and sticking a bit, then up cwm by me and its sticking a lot more, so looks like to me that east is getting more snow and height is key again. so what is in store for the rest of the night guys?

The PPN we have now must stall over us all night then?

Yes I think this is the only reasonable explanation for the NAE to suggest this.
