Tuesday it is then.. smile.png

Chance for Friday - mainly the Pennines and usual high ground - blizzard risk.

Certainly looks good for favourable places inland and with elevation (were have we heard that before lol) but who knows maybe if the air is cold enough it could give snow even out to the west were places will be more explosed to the North/North Westerly winds. Fingers crossed it's a widespread event for all by the time we reach this point next week.

Today shows you how prone we are to showers coming in off the Irish Sea - started off dry/bright, but now cloudy and with the threat of organised showers ganging up, winds should drive them through quickly though.

Its really mad here this wind, got to take the little lad out later in this and carry him to the car as he is disabled, need to go to docs but we dont have a driveway and have to walk down the street with him, really not looking forward to it.

How do i find out the wind speed here please?

Only 49 days (or 7 weeks) until the spring Equinox and by meteorological calendar the first day of spring. Current sunrise is 07:57, setting 16:48. March 20th times are sunrise 06:11, setting 18:23.

Why is this important? its due to the dinural range and diffirential temperatures in terms of max and min, where the UK is still liable for snowfall aswell as the onset of 20+ 'c temps which means things can swing either way depending on the dominating airmass.

Wind seems to be easing here after being hit by a nasty spell of 60mph gusts with hail and rain thrown in. The seafront at New Brighton was impressive at high tide as the waves topped 30' crashing over the sea wall (sorry no pics - was out shopping) :-).

Thankfully our trampoline lives to bounce another day :-)

A couple of hail pellets this past half-hour. RADAR shows a cell of heavy PPN nearby but can't see anything through the cloud bases other than sporadic showers. Looks to be around the Dove Holes area of Buxton with a overshooting anvil downwind from the cell from what i'm seeing on the RADAR.

Its alright round here at the moment, a few showers quickly rattling through on a strong and gusty westerly wind, certainly nothing out of the ordinary to be honest.
