Rain here at the moment with gales again. The temperature has gone up by a whole degree to 3.8°C too, not looking great.

Strong winds here in oldham with snow and at least 1cm on all surfaces more to come as it stands

Thunder & lightning has impressed me most so far tonight. Normally something I only see on hot summer's day not middle of winter with associated snowfall

I did say there was a high risk of thunder tonight so I'm not that surprised. We often get thunder in polar westerlies as potent as this.

God that was a large sferic! who ever was near that must have got a shock. sounded like a +CG.

Looks like rain showers throughout tonight (imby) GFS proclaims snow moderate to heavy before turning back to rain. Looks like a complete rain event on the coast.

Temperature dropped very quickly to 2.9C, then rose just as fast back to 5C.

Slight chill in the air, however rain showers continue on. I'd prefer very cold and dry conditions to this constant rain almost every day malarky
