Thats hopecasting i reckon , fed up now of the cold ,just want spring to prevail and a nice hot summer .

Saying that stunning day today with glorious sunshine and tempature here at a reasonable 13.4 c .

Nope no hopecasting and remember March is usually our snowiest Month. So it"s how i see the situation developing and met now in agreement ,i expect the east UK to do very well out of this set up,also covection potential for all of UK with -10 to -12 uppers a potent cold N Easterly flow .Nice for middle of winter lol.ecmt850.192.png Edited by keithlucky

It was a lovely day, almost felt summer like with warmish temps, people were out in their T-Shirts! However I do think that the cold will return next week, but I really do think snow is very hard to predict when the cold hasnt come

Min -5c max 16c that's quite interesting.

Diurnal temp of 21C thats wild!! Edited by Panayiotis

It is astonishing to see such diurnal ranges, when so often during the winter, ranges were under 1c, notably during the wet spell in December and during the snowy spell in January.

Guys we may see something special regarding a March cold spell, this is one of charts from the ensembles at only 120hrs!

gens-17-0-120.png

-15C for the whole of Wales!! You may be like "But its only one the members and its an outlier?" Now look at the mean!

gens-21-0-120.png?0

-12C for all of the south! With the -15C edging in from the east. Great ensembles this morning!

you might be fed up of the cold but the cold ain't fed up with us yet - and as the sun is still weak - this will continue on for the next 3 decades I'm afraid folks - anyone wanting a warmer climate better head south - Canaries is good lol!

Won't that depth of cold bring about more likely convection with the warmer sun at this time of year? i.e. Heavy snow showers?

Yes anywere can see good convection in this coming set up as suggested in met outlook Much colder conditions are expected to develop early next week. Rain, sleet and hill snow in the southeast at first on Monday clearing away with brighter conditions elsewhere spreading south. Snow showers are likely to increasingly affect northern and eastern regions through next week, but all areas are at risk of seeing sleet, hail and snow showers at times. There is a risk of some significant and disruptive amounts of snow in places, but there is currently uncertainty regarding which areas are most at risk. There will however, also be some sunshine, particularly further west with widespread frost Edited by keithlucky

I would've preferred to see this chart in winter:

ecmt850.216.png

In the nearer term in does look like we could see some snow on Sunday, and cold thereafter.

Persistent snow showers pushing east to west Sunday night Monday could well get a covering of snow overnight http://www.meteociel...96-21.GIF?07-17

Yes im confident many in our region will see snow from this setup, but how much/duration is very hard to predict from this far out. One thing for sure though is its going to get very, very cold even though we are in March!

Fax will be fasinating tonight to see if we are under threat from more general snow from the S West.

Back comes the waterlogging!....nearly half an inch of rain today so far...mad.gif sick of the sight of rain, puddles and mud...an ever repeating tiresome cycle ever since November 2012.
