I'm in my conservatory and can see no sleetiness here... Must be your extra altitude!

RGS recording 2.7 and 2.1 dp...

There were big ice splodges on the car windscreen, but it is still really wet stuff. I can't see anything settling even if it does turn to actual snow - there were floods on my recent car journey!

AS - absolutely, the temp would have to drop well below freezing... I went to priory farm this afternoon and the roads are full of puddles... (And pot holes!)

Not cold enough on the estuary, I'd not even classify it as Snizzle. It's just rain. For now.

+3.0c

Dp +0.3c

hPa: 999.7 still falling

Sleet in the rain for the last 30 mins. It's very marginal at the moment. Our altitude is clearly helping - I have just driven one of the boys to cricket nets at a school to the east of here, out in the sticks but about 50m lower, where it was all rain. On the journey back the sleetiness kicked in at around 100m. Amazing what difference just 50m of altitude makes when it is this borderline.

AS

I remember a rain event in slough once and heavy deep snow at Stokenchurch about 500ft up 30 miles away. Amazing , will dig out photos some day.

Some sleet but mainly rain here . added 8m to my altitude by going on roof and standing on top of lader but not much change, sorry.gif
