There is a very large area of heavy looking ppn coming diagonally towards us on the North Kent Coast,I was not expecting anything wintery but the wind here has picked up and the temps have dropped to 2.7C with a dp 1.1C.Will it be sleety ?

Must admit that's a great 01:00 forecast from the bbc if its snow you're after.

Heavy snow showers or longer spells of snow tomorrow most of the day and as we head into monday that channel low giving snow as far north as London.

Great update considering it is march.

Thats interesting L-S!

Btw, you're still in the Snow Depth Cup.

Barnet (H) (SUBURBAN STREAMER) v. Wimbledon (L) (LONDON SNOW)

Tom.

Will pm you a depth at peak of this spell that's if we are to see anything.

Looking forward to tomorrow and keeping up to date with proceedings while working outside to the west of london.

Should be!

im off goodnight folks

got a feeling a few late nights coming up lazy.gif

Good point, sweet dreams John, lets hope things pan-out for us!

(EDIT: The front seems to have started stalling heavily now, not making inroads South by the looks of the last couple of runs)

I wish that front would hurry up and go through, all that convective stuff right behind it needs to get here.

Live forecast just now on BBC news showed a smattering of snow for norfolk/suffolk today. Showed snow tomorrow to be very far south now, northern france and channel islands, with maximum inroads as far as I could see of about 20 miiles inland hampshire, kent and sussex but heavier stuff all to the south of the mainland. I suppose if it goes further south still this could clear the air for convective showers but this is way too technical for me to comment on!

Well lots of doom and gloom here but, for what it's worth, my WeatherPro app has upgraded the Sun/Mon snow for my location? And the Metweather app hasn't really changed?

Woken up to it nice an wet outside and it's still raining although there is probably a touch of sleet in there with a temperature 2c. If this had been two months ago with the shorter days then I think it may have been rather white out there.

Looking at the radar i can see that the colder 850's hpa are just to my north as the front moves slowly south, maybe will see a few flakes soon.
