Chris you are in Crosby? How's it looking for the run into town this morning I've gotta get to work

Well, here it is accumulating all the time, I should imagine it will be a little bit deeper towards Liverpool way, by rush-hour it Will probably be worse. I've got to get to KGV College southport at 8 assuming it's open, so I'm hoping the Formby bypass will be alright.

Even the places that have had heavy snow all night dont seem to have much in the way of accumulation yet.

Any totals more than an inch or two?

Opened the curtains to moderate snow blowing horizontally across the roof tops.

Maybe an inch or two where it has settled but not much seems to be actually landing.

Temperatures aren't the issue as it's currently -0.5c but the wind is just to strong and not allowing most of it to land.

this mornings Met O. Forecast certainly hasn't diluted for the region and is one of the best I've ever seen but surprised that the amber area hasn't been extended to cover the higher parts where large totals are being talked about.

It will interesting to see the 6am BBC forecast.

Possibly an amazing but potentially difficult couple of days to come.

Woke up several times in the night - sleet sleet sleet with white only car roofs and a bit slushy on the grass.

Give it a chance! There's still 36 hours left of this event for most of us.

Eased off a bit here and its a bit, well, damp. Not much on roads, maybe an inch on grass. Most impressive feature of the weather today is the strength of the wind, so far.

Not expecting much. Has been snowing and the wind has been howling at times but I can't see much or any lying from this around here. The temperatures need to drop further and probably the wind as well as well as continuous heavy precipitation. Western parts especially the Liverpool area look favourable at the moment.

39 on line at 6am - is that a record.

Must be something brewing.

Not exactly a winter wonderland here this morning. Can't tell if we had a covering and then it's melted or more likely; the ppn has struggled to lay on wet surfaces. We have a covering on the grass, roads and pavements have a very thin cover in places but mostly slushy or wet.

The snow is rather light, smallish flakes.

Current temp 0.8C

dp -0.8C

1.9c here and a bit confused. Woke up expecting a covering and nothing at all in Manchester!! Has it stalled or has it missed Manchester? It is howling outside though

Snow not heavy at the moment but I don't think I've ever seen it combined with such gusty winds IMBY.

Some of us are probably going to be disappointed with the final totals and i may well be one of them but this storm has a long way to run yet so a lot of us may wish they didn't get what was forecast.

Anyway my last post before I set of for work.

Early finish due to bad weather, doubt it but you never know.

Just wondering, I'm meant to be traveling up to the Lake Disrict today and looking at the forecasts last night I'd pretty much wrote it off, though I look out of my window this morning to a few flakes blowing around and nothing on the ground, so I'm thinking I might go, is this a good idea?
