Machu the fact you live u the top of a hill may skew your opinion. If you look at most of the reports unless your highish up in the sw of the region then its dry or the odd flurry.

Luckily i dont mind the banter smile.png

good.gif I always read your posts in the Model Thread so i've seen you dont mind the banter, i've also seen you take some serious group abuse for having a different

outlook to most in the thread based on their optimism for an Easterly chance way out in FI. You kept your cool much better than i would in that situation, especially when

the models didn't materialise.

I do actually agree with you, the reports from members on here are stating no snow or no settling snow and even non event reports, Penistone seems to always be

a good location when theres a chance of snow in the region.

Careful the Snow Police will be on you for saying that. Possibly 6cm to 7cm here so you must be barking mad LOL. Since the heavy stuff is in small areas I'm not surprised some are seeing very little. Plus elevation makes a difference.

Loool it's because the house is sheltered from the wind so the garden isn't getting much of the snow. Next batch will fully cover.

I'm happier with no warnings. Warnings normally kill the event off, :)

Can I just point out that the snow is lying and deep at the bottom of the hill at 120 ASL

With this in mind I'd expect the lying snow line to be 80-100M ASL+

adam are you mad.. ?rofl.gif

anyway....Hc im struggling now to see why the met put an amber up.....but i can see development in the midlands now , its like a streamer at the mo , about 50 miles wide running up the m1 ... for my sanity and the sanity of some here ..is this what we can expect tonight?

Yep he's mad alright.. :D

That's the weather front pushing north east it's almost with us now and with that extra forcing factor, I expect the precipitation to start intensyfying.

It just seems to be a painfully slow process unfortunatly.

True. Probably would have gotten hammered, but the Met had to give it the kiss of death.

Astonished at how negative it is in here. The radar I'm looking at still looks very good for this region with many more hours of snow to come.

(EDIT to add: as long as you're west of say Scu'thrpe)

Orographic snowfall at its best. A raging blizzard here in the foothills.

It's brilliant in huddersfield tonight isn't it? Just been out for a drive up outlane way and it was a right adrenalin rush!! The wind was immense, blowing the lying snow over from the open fields!! Did it in a fiesta for even more fun!!
