I'm off to Ireland for a week on Saturday in West Cork, anyone what the weather will be like and the temperatures?

also where I can watch weather forecast videos for Ireland, I can't find any!

Thanks :)

hello everyone, and greetings from Spain (again). It's a balmy 24C here but a few days ago the weather in Spain was memorable - it snowed across the country from the Atlantic to the Med, with the exception of the extreme south. That is where we now are, having fled from a cold and rainsoaked Barcelona, pushing through driving snow between Zaragoza and Madrid, which you would hardly expect at this time of the year. Locals are saying it's the worst spring for 60 years.

Quite warm but overcast yesterday afternoon, seems similar today. The isolated chance of a little thunder for N and W today.

At least it doesn't look like typical exam weather coming up. Hopefully the good stuff can wait until after the 17th!

What a miserable day for my 40th birthday!!

Thankfully a large bottle of my favourite Whisky Highland Park has been given as a present by my lovely wife so I can drown my sorrows in style!

Happy birthday MS. It could be worse — you could be 50!

Shouldn't be long now till you get the weather you like. I personally have been really warm the last few days, all the windows open and all ohmy.png Maybe its just me.

The Big 40, goodness gracious, have a good one. Don't drink it all now, you'll need more for tomorrow looking at how wet it will be. Or you could just stand outside, that will drown you alright.

It's not just you, I haven't had heating on in over a week and windows open last few days.

Still drinking!

Need something to take my mind off the depressing weather.

Seems we could be locked into this unsettled spell until at least the end of the month.

It has been wet and quite windy at times, but when the sun comes out for a little bit, it feels nice. Had heating back on yesterday, it was chilly for May.

Certainly a cool, fresh, windy day it was today with plenty of rain and hail showers here although they did die out towards evening. It felt more like autumn today then late spring. Max temp 11.3c,current temp 5.2c under clear skies.

Promising signs of summer towards months end and into June. Phase 1 MJO composite for June looks mighty fine. Azores heading NE.

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear as though there is any strong signal for the MJO currently, with generally low amplitude phases dominating so it's influence will be minimal anyway.

That's a question I had BFTV. When the MJO is at a low amplitude, what does it mean?

It means it's not very pronounced, a low amplitude MJO means a weak MJO so it's impact on large scale synoptics is less.

GFS once again going against the ECM. Will we have yet another battle of the 12zs!?
