Still feeling muggy and today has looked the most threatening convective wise! quite a few big cumulus wanting to go cumulonimbus.

Hope something comes off this evening at some point.

Best convection I've seen here for a while. Sharp and well defined although quite high based.

Come on, come on!!!! Lovely dark based Cb over London at the moment, some rain curtains off to the North it seems and what looks like a low topped anvil to the southern skyline.

Trying to rain, with limited success.

Most convective looking skies I've seen in AGES!

Exactly!!! Can't remember the last time I saw a good robust Cb! (To be honest this today is hardly special!)

It used to pain me watching big storm clouds when they were either to my East or West...I'd be happy just to see that these days!

Perhaps netweather may consider setting up a hotline for any slightly more disgruntled, storm aficionados..or whenever it goes belly up?

Bit like the Samaritans but for weather folk LOL. But please no premium charges - or heavy breathing :)

Or, green sleeves, should you be placed on hold..

Something beginning to kick off over Essex/Suffolk border, looks like an intense line is forming there. Looking thundery here too with developing showers over Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Leicestershire by the looks of it.

Had some promising looking CBs but they seem to have moved east at a rate of knots.

Some nice clouds going overhead. Not a spot of rain though.

Just had brief but very large convective drops of rain. Best bit of this last 4 days has just happened there and then.

Ill be keeping my eye on the models. Its time now to drown our sorrows of this week's epic fail and wait till the next possible plume, if we get one that is!

Hopefully July will deliver some decent action, from what I recall throughout my childhood years, July delivered the most intense plumes. I really hope I don't end up clutching straws in September to see my actual first proper storm of the year in Ibiza though!

I watched this crazy storm start off one morning in Ibiza, September 2009 I think, I had never seen convection like it, very low level clouds forming so fast at 8am with rumbles of thunder and huge spots of rain, but that was all it was for us and it drifted away westwards to leave a glorious day.  I checked the news later to see some severe flooding somewhere on mainland Spain which could have been the very same storm.

Ah wow, sounds exciting stuff. I was in Majorca 2 years ago in August and had a very intense pulse storm pop up one afternoon. The speed of which it built up at was incredible, like as if someone was speeding a video up! I was just lounging by the pool watching it form. Its things like what you mentioned that make me love holidaying abroad. A tan is good, but catching the intense storms is what I call getting my money's worth the most!

So is Ibiza's best storm month September then? I've heard that there is some very good ones at that time, but October I know is when they say it really gets bad.
