Dont worry Steve, not long until the next Thames Streamer, snow variety of course. That's gone and jinxed it!

Heat lightning evident here, probably from the stuff over the far south of Essex / North Kent.

Still and sultry.

Hi Biggin,Some really intense echos in that E.Kent stuff, must be an impressive structure.Tom.

Indeed! My storm magnet appears to have reactivated..some of the most intense rainfall I've ever experienced and severe gales to go with it. I was actually worried at one point there was a small tornado in it (don't laugh)! Anyway, just normal old rain now and lots of thunder and lightning. Think something might've got hit nearby as had several right overhead claps of thunder, with any luck it was out to sea though.

Sorry..a bit more from me: got a strike on film that I'll attempt to upload tomorrow and I also took one as best I could of the insanity at the height of the storm!

Hey ;). I've just been woken by several rumbles in the distance and some lightning. So excited! What's going on? Need to check radar NOW! :D

I can also hear very distant thunder too. It looks like it's heading my way. :)

MONSTROUS thunder and lightening here in cambrigdeshire, the worst I can ever remember. astonishing scenes, fork lightening across the sky, horizontol, vertical - the entire garden lights up like midday for 3 seconds at a time every half a minute or so, with intense clapping. Subsided marginally in last 5 minutes, expecting it to worsen again as soon as sleep returns.

Yes this storm is a beast, best I've seen in Cambridgeshire. It's just sat overhead since 23:30!!On radar it just keeps building from the South.

Terrific thunderstorms in Folkestone plus the worst rain Ive seen in a few years. Theres still huge ICs across the sky just east towards Dover and loud thunder even now. Weve had this for the best part of 2 hours now :S

everything moved to our north in last 15 minutes, thunder now more distant, seems like a good time to try and get some kip in before the insane squall line to my south east starts developing further north. amazing last hour, probably the most intense thunderstorm I have seen in my 21 years.
