That's seemingly it here in Inkersall, Chesterfield. As always, we missed the main bulk of the storm, but we had some torrential rain (40mm has now fallen today), decently loud thunder, and some lightning. I can't complain. :)

That Nottingham storm looks insane!

Can actually see the massive thunderhead of it from Peterborough.

do you think you can send it this way, lol

Although I can see a lot of cloud bubbling up, and MetO seem to think 8/9PM is our time....

I am just a a couple of miles from you in Hindley, did you get the couple of close bolts this morning ?

some bubbling cumulus south and west with dark bases, but not really doing much, very hazy looking, so hard to tell how structured they are , cant really see any storms here  TBH

Constant thunder to my east now, it seems to keep backbuilding and not really moving away.

Just went round the other side of the building and lots of lightning to my north east.

Nice profile pic btw.

Hmm, I'm not convinced. I think the line of radar returns are it, and they are pushing northwards and eastwards.

I think you may be right there as the main convergence zone is in the wrong place, then again there is a small amount here so I'm not going to rule it out for the night just yet.

Though I'm not going to be hanging around with the camera hoping for it, I think I'm just going to sack the idea and go to the pub unless something materializes in the next hour.

Wish I could haha. Last night would take some beating though, it was insane! Can't complain really haha!

I so hope this is a start of a new era for regular storms like the 90's and not just a one off!

met office say 7pm for a storm here, but to me everything is north or west of here and seems like we have missed our chance today

Look at that storm feature coming onto the South Coast near Eastbourne now. If there isn't too much Eastward shift on that, that could have our names on it.

Looking to the south for salvation. Maybe some new cells going up that may visit me or join the rest in the shredder. Correction just as type they've been shredded and the gap getting wider.

Just had a look outside and a nasty looking tower is going up to my W or SW, really dark base.

Sky getting darker and darker to the south here. No thunder heard or lightning observed but it looks quite promising

Have I got anything else headed my way? I can still hear thunder and the sky is black.

Thomasz on BBC just said plenty of flashes and torrential downpours spreading NE and showed more northern coastal areas under storms - maybe that line is going to intensify as it spreads north?
