Some hefty returns on the radar now over Devon. Some parts of SW Somerset might experience some shower activity soon too.

I think it must be a bust for my location, things should have started to develop by now.

Netweather's in house NMM model still shows modest CAPE values around at 18:00 and 20:00 this evening so there is still that chance a lucky few of us could see some thundery activity;

I do agree though that it would be handy if things started to get a move on as time isn't on our side anymore.

I'll also add the PPN charts to show the possibilities well into the evening.

I won't post anymore as I might get told off, but that's enough to keep me interested for a few more hours yet. #hopecasting.

I've been watching those but haven't said anything yet as I haven't been too sure. The electrical activity has stayed over the Channel Islands but there is a clump of rain that appears to be heading for the Isle of Wight/Southampton area. Edited July 28, 2013 by AWD

SEEMS so.. Just looked at Puffin cam on Burhou Island...rain on the cam with a wind blow sea...

Latest radar;

shows Devon & Cornwall has prime areas of cell development today with some hefty returns shown there. More scattered development up Bristol way and into Gloucestershire.

Dorset and Wiltshire and much of inland Hampshire and Berkshire relatively dry and sunny with just isolated showers with the exception of the south Hampshire coast where something more significant looks to be making it's way to the Solent area.

Just started raining here. A lot of dark cloud cover rolling in.

 

I think that was the ex MCS might get a few rumbles from it.. Latest satrep has downgraded it now though.

Very potent cell near Poole. Those of you around the South Hampshire way could be in for a little convective treat soon.
