Worth mentioning here in Solihull.....

Brilliant sunshine....... Claps of thunder........ Torrential rain thundering down on the roof.

ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!!!

Takes me back to the good old 50's this stuff does.

Sunny here now and only distant thunder out towards Clent/Brum, but you can still see lightning flashing away over that way.

Certainly is flashing away over this way. Rain now easing off but still loud thunder around. This one is not a glancing blow...it was a full on punch in the face!

Short and sweet to finish off today's activities.

Omg that scared the life out of me! Must have been directly overhead, the loudest crack I have ever heard. I love thunder, but that scared me.

Very loud thunder out of my eastern windows and very black skies.

Brilliant blue skies out of my western windows!

Fantastic line of mammatus now coming over.

The back end of this is beautiful. A line of mammatus seperating the blackness of the storm with the clear blue skies. Amazing. Wish I had a camera. This is going to look stunning in the eastern sky over the next hour as it moves away. Particuarly if the sky is clear here.

Shows appear to be dying away to the west now

Looks like a line from Stourbridge, Dudley up to Lichfield seems to be missing out right now. Another line from Stratford to Leamington. Inbetween those places is where all the action is. However, the forecast was for showers to set themselves up in lines with some places missing out. Just unfortunate it's us so far.

...but, it's not all bad. It means we get great views of all the cbs around us, really feel closed in by them...almost intimidating! And the odd rumble coming from various places makes it a bit more interesting. Still time to go as well...

did it? we've had a really sodden afternoon by all means, huge puddles round here!

I was wrong earlier then! We certainly didn't miss out! Quite a bit of thunder in the end. Particularly that last one...very active little storm. Still some developments to the north-west so maybe not over yet. And still some stuff way out over Wales. Although the cat has now finally come out from under the bed and crept downstairs...a sure sign that it's over!

I'm afraid not. Things are moving SW to NE...but with quite a westerly element to them.

It might be worth keeping an eye over Wales and towards Herefordshire. That's where our storms have come from and theres still things happening out that way. Although not as actively as it was earlier.

I'm not sure this is over. Convection is exploding in the sky to the west of here again.

Definitely something developing to the west, has gone dark that way again.

The eastern sky looks stunning as predicted but some amazing towers going up to the south again.

It's gone very, very dark away to our west, lot's of thunder in the mid-distance. I reckon Hall Green is probably taking a direct hit right now.
