    I'll go for an 18.2

And just for the extra measure, seeing as the average August here is about 18.8 i'll go for 20.5 here. Possibly the first good August in a while?

17.0c - *slightly* warmer and better than 2012, can see a nice warm spell towards the end of the month boosting maxima.

As the nights get longer the heat grows stronger.  20C

Interestingly though August post 2004 has been the only month not to record a CET in the "well above average category".  Also post 2004 August has also become the month with the least extremes in monthly CET with both the coolest and warmest CETs finishing within 1C of average.  We have also had our longest run of sub 17C Augusts since the 1960-1974 run.

My usual method went for 17.4C, my summer forecast went for a range of 17.6C to 18C however my update goes for a range of 15.4C to 15.6C which would be consistent with Augusts since 2004.

Pop me in at 17.6C for now.

    Nationally I'll go for 17.2C

    Here I'll go for 18.2C

Maybe a similar August temperature wise to 2004 - unexceptional maxes but persistently high minima.
