Woke to distant rumbles around half seven which came to nothing (looking at radar it passed to my north and south)

Another storm moved past just now, probably 30 seconds of rain and a dozen rumbles and gone!

Is this the cold front moving through earlier than expected?

Hi Lottie,

No, I think you'll find the cold front trailing out NNE/SSW over the west country still. This was just a thundery plume, that pushed up from W.France around dawn.

Tom.

Looks like i'm going to miss out. I don't understand this set up. Any chance we have the possibility of more storms developing over S/E today?

Just about to have a thunderstorm - I thought this wasn't supposed to happen until this afternoon.

Thank you Tom, hopefully (for me at least, not you) the sun will come out and warm everything up so when the cold front passes over it goes bang properly.

Definitely something heading up the coast....mind you, might be a trawler out of Cromer Posted Image

I think that defines my chance of seeing a storm  --  seeing a trawler out of Cromer.

Had anything where you are yet?

CS looks as though he'll get damp (at least)

Well, that storm lingered a bit longer than most, I must say! Nice rolling thunder, overlapping each other, frequent lightning in the cloud layer and one really crispy, crackling peal that made the hairs on my arms stand up! Still muggy out there, though!

Lucky buggers. Medway missed out this time. You guys reckon we'll get more storm development as the day goes on?

Morning all!

So far we've had a couple of rumbles and a 60 second downpour of ginormous raindrops but thats it. The clouds in the sky are absolutely beautiful today though. I think I will be spending the morning gazing out of the window.

Anvil! Where are you? Posted Image

I'm here!

Just posted in the storms thread. Thought I was in the SE/EA one! Posted Image

Anyway, here's what I said:

Morning all,

Great to hear storm reports once again. One solitary rumble of thunder around 8 this morning. And a couple of low, distant rumbles heard from my west a few minutes ago from a very angry looking sky out that way. (Took snaps, but they're just not doing it justice for some reason.)

Not a drop of rain has fallen here so far today. Currently 21.5°, and sun happily shining down on and off.

Storms to my west. storms to my east. Clear to my south......and guess which way everything is moving!

Will report back if anything changes!

Lee
