Coast and John Pike -thank you both :air_kiss::air_kiss: -  I really appreciate your updates. It may be too early to confirm yet..... but will this prolonged heavy rain currently predicted for Eastbourne also extend 34miles north-west up the A22 towards East Grinstead? Given current dry ground conditions , my house is at serious risk of flash flooding from surface water runoff from the Ashdown Forest. The only time it has flooded before was when 55mm of rain fell in 45 mins on 20/07/07 with similar dry ground conditions. A predicted 4-6hours at 25mm/hr :shok: means it could overtop recently installed flood defences of 60cm so I would need to take additional preventative action tonight :help: I'll be coming back to this thread throughout the evening/tomorrow....meanwhile the guinea pigs are searching out their water-wings and I'm off to the shop to stock up on booze and fags   going to be installing additional flood defences up to 1.0m and putting all the valuable upstairs :whistling:xxx

Hi palaceThought piggie a bit rude :-)I sort of hope the expected rainfall is wrongHowever prevention is better than cure as they sayHope all is ok for you laterBest regardsJohn

Radar shows rain here, but nothing falling (yet), so it may all pass over us yet.

very warm and humid though, 23.4o in the shed right now

update rain fall from ukmo

Posted Image

good news is it has pushed the main heavy stuff in the early hours to the north east

now

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

thats the bad news

the ukmo rainfall charts can be a bit hit and miss

however the updated fax for 12 tomorrow

Posted Image

has the low pressure centre slightly closer to us

the trough however is still over the south east but a tad more east

so still the potential is there for heavy rain for a fair time for the south east

from around 04.00 hours saturday to around 08.00-10.00 sunday morning

storm risk in my eyes would be more likely to the north-north east of london

hope that helps

regards

john

What`s the rough "go" time for tonight's/tomorrows shenanigans? May pull a all-nighter if there`s a decent lightshow in the offing. Posted Image

......Missed JP`s post above. :D

Hi all. Been very warm and close today in Ippy. My niece and I always seem to choose days like this to do major tasks in the house. Today we built a flat pack desk. Earlier in the week we put together a side board. That was a real hoot. Posted Image The instructions were appalling. The air was blue apart from being very warm. Posted Image

Hope you all have a fantastic week end whatever the weather brings. I hope you all get some T&L if that's what floats yer boat. It certainly does mine.

WELCOME BACK MK. Hope you had a fab time.,Posted Image

Hope it is not too bad over the weekend as we are attending a steam rally for 3 days and want it nice and calm and good.

Still worried about that though, your dragging in cooler air off the North Sea onto the 'warm' surface with fronts dotted around everywhere, plenty of moisture to tap into!

Evening all! :)

I'm cautiously optimistic of fairly pleasant weather later in the weekend now. More so than yesterday. I just hope the low doesn't drag its heels and spoil Sunday lunchtime / early afternoon. Hopefully it'll depart earlier than that.

Have a good weekend, rain or shine.

You too Steve and everyone ! Is it me or did it get dark very early tonight ? I went out at half eight and it was like the middle of the night - loads of bats flying round as well !

Hello Folks. Hope everyone OK. Final Bank holiday of the year, This year is flying by. Speaking of flying, I was looking around for live weather radar, Came across this.....http://planefinder.net/         Bugger being an air traffic controller with that lot. Looking a tad wet over night and tomorrow with a nice Halogen strobe light show in the mix. (BBQ Sunday....?.) . Nice to see very pleasant weather for next week, Cant really grumble at all for this Summer, Compared to the 6 previous. Enjoy your weekend and take care.

Is Sunday suppose to be dry I hope so.

Just a few scattered showers, the north easterly on Sunday and Monday looks surprisingly sunny from the forecasts
