I don't like the murmurings about tomorrow night's possible heavy rain for the SE. Posted Image I wonder if we'll see an amber warning tomorrow, for a part of the region?

I wouldn't be surprised, they have already extended the current Yellow Warning into the early hours of Wednesday for the following areas...

Hampshire, Surrey, Greater London, Kent, Medway, East Sussex, Portsmouth, Southampton, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Isle of Wight, West Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Bracknell Forest, Reading, Wokingham, Buckinghamshire, Windsor and Maidenhead, Slough

Issued at - 06 Jan 2014, 18:24

Valid from - 06 Jan 2014, 18:00

Valid to - 08 Jan 2014, 06:00

Heavy showers, some of them combined with hail and thunder, will continue to affect parts of southern and southeastern England at times through the rest of Monday, Tuesday and early Wednesday: the warning has been extended into the first hours of  Wednesday to cater for the increased likelihood of a further spell of rain in similar areas.

The public should be aware of the risk of further localised flooding, especially in areas which have been affected in recent days.

Been a rain free evening here, bands are running from sw to ne, so if you were under one it could last a while, yet either side of them little or nothing (like here)

winds have really picked up here too over the last half hour and been very gusty out there along with heavy rain. Seems to be easing now as I type but then I thought that 10 mins ago only for it to pick right up again. Agree with Saint, when it was at its worst it sounded worse than some of the other winter storms we have had. Oh and yes here it comes again. Might have to close the little window to be in for any chance of sleeping here.

Amazing, that was incredible the heaviest rain I think I've seen since 2012. I was convinced there would be a huge crack of thunder but that was impressive!

We are rain people now. The snow has been defeated thus far by the potent Atlantic. And long will it continue.

A reminder after our winters in recent years of how devastating the Atlantic really can be if it wants.

I am getting a really strong urge to get a tent and put it up in the bedroom and fill it with blankets etc for when the cold sets in, I have a really bad feeling about this, and that we are all being fooled by the current weather.

(edited my post here) Probably less wind but still a lot of rainfall. slowly easing from Atlantic in the next 2 weeks I expect.
