now we have the hailstones, wouldnt be at all surprised if a funnel is spotted the way this is going, high winds, thunder, hailstones

This is fun. I'm laying in my sick bed at home looking out the window hoping for some sunlight to cheer me up and guess what! It's absolutely belting down plus hail. I feel so good now - not.

Have decided to sell wetsuit and snorkel on ebay... would be willing to trade for a submarine. Any takers?

Insane amount of rain, bucketing down. Speaking of buckets I need to go empty the one catching all the water coming in through my conservatory roof!

edit: Mum was standing in the flood waters watching them rise..

That's really not good especially as it's likely there will be more rain overnight and tomorrow. Fingers crossed for everyone in affected areas.

crazy amount of rain in a short period! the main road near me just flooded over. The drains are really struggling to cope. That was almost on par with the flash flood in July 2007

Raining again here with some really strong gusts of wind. Not as much rain as in some parts so I guess we're lucky in that respect.

Hope everyone is ok and stays safe. Don't take risks.

Intense 20 second downpour here which was deafening on the shopfloor as it fell on the roof. Never heard anything like it.

Looks like a squall line ruining across the region:

Torrential downpour in Reigate, just now petering out. Confined to home by illness, antibiotics not yet taken effect, working from sick ward (ie guest bedroom at top of the house), at least affords a decent view over the North Downs as the rain sweeps through. Last night the squally showers woke me from the best efforts of the Night Nurse (no, not a real one unfortunately) so they must have been potent.
