Only 1.7mm to 09.00 and only spits and spots since.  Wind has increased dramatically in the last couple of hours.  Yeovilton is showing gusts in the mid to high 40s mph and it's certainly making it feel chilly.

Very heavy hail shower squall just moved through with pretty violent winds and recycling bins/boxes all over the place. Was all quite dramatic and the temperature dropped from 11.7C to 8.4C to finish with a rainbow backlit by blue sky.

Very windy earlier on here, 2 panels of our neighbour's 6 foot back fence totally ripped out and fell onto her patio. Guess that's one of the perils of living on a hill facing west.

Blustery now but wind's lost the strength it had earlier. Sunny/cloudy. Temp 9.7oC.

Pleasant but windy day in Llanelli/ Carmarthen, missed the showers.

Only a few brief showers recorded by the WS at home today although some heavy ones arrived just now.

Max 11.2c during daytime although it was at 13.2c in the early hours.

Seems the highest recorded gust in the Midlands today was in Coventry 52mph.

Anyway big clap of thunder here around 3:30pm made me jump out of my skin   accompanied with very heavy showers.

Feels chilly out there now.... 6.8c

DWW,

Interesting shows how the showers were in lines.

It went dark here  at 3:30 and spitted, but didn't here any thunder

.

At 17:00 I was in Shirley and it lashed down as above.;

Yep the temp is falling quite rapidly

What a day today as been Cats & Dogs even a....... TORNADO:  tornado.gif

THIS picture shows the tornado that formed over Burton earlier this morning.

Reader Adam Wright captured the stunning image as he made his way down Derby Road this morning.

Laura Young, press officer for the Met Office, said: "One of our weather experts has looked at the picture and has agreed that it is very, very likely to be genuine.

"The thickness shows that it represents what a tornado should look like.

We obviously got off lightly here.  Virtually no rain, just very windy, especially through the latter part of the afternoon.

Feeling well nippy out there, especially in the breeze - 9.7c and overcast. Yesterday was the first day of sun since last Sunday.... didn't last for long did it.

220mm rainfall this month, slightly above average. If the GFS is right there's plenty more to come.

It's barely reaching the ground Mapantz, only a few pimply spots here despite being under rainfall for over an hour. I am surprised though at how far South the weak Warm Front has got.
