Out of luck there John, may be snow lying for the rest of the winter.

What do you make of the continued quakes in Barda?  Lots of variation in depth and strength, but still mainly in the East/North East segment

Hi NNW

looks like most of the EQ's are @ 10km-0km in the last 16 hrs,and quiet a swarm of them unchecked too, still waiting for updates on these.

WTF  lol

this doesn't look normal compared to the history

interesting

hi nnw

141014_2045.png

re the different depths

shows the feed is going strong

the shallow ones are tricky

could be the ice dropping and breaking or the chamber being affected due to pressure

personally i think the quakes showing at the north east of the map are the ones to watch (the edge of the ice)

i feel these could be the ones that break the ice first and cause a new fissure

however i still feel a NE break could still happen but the volcano has taken more 5+ earthquakes

than anyone expected so it may take some time

although this is my opinion only and i think with this expect surprises as these things

never seem to run as predicted

My theory of the small quakes is the melting of the glacier underneath, you get ice melt, you get movement, the ice melts you get gravity of heavier ice on top to drop

could be wrong but that's how i see it in my head, now where is the ice melt water going!,is it trickling down the sides of the caldera causing mini explosions, hence the small quakes @ a curtian depth

aslo to ask, when was the latest flyover @ barda,i know weather permitting this might be nigh inpossible,we could do with a airiel view of the latest up there to see if anything has changed on the surface.

you would think with the latest technology(bar the gps, plots etc),there would be a plan/lay out of barda underneath,so wished i could see barda underneath,it would put everything into more perspective and understanding of what lies beneath,BARDA  is so unpredictable, and so much has gone on that it's over a month now.

i suppose it all comes down to money at the end of the day
