There's quite a bit more snow here in Sheffield at work, some of this lot only live down road and have used weather for an excuse to not come.

8 mile drive for me and made it easily.

Nice covering here in East Morton apx 5-6cm. Just had an amazing shower with big flakes. Radar looks good for a couple more hours.

Went out and measured ours. Currently around 7cm's on walls (some of that is previous falls, 4-5cm's on ground. So probably around 5cm of fresh snow, and possibly more to come.

Much of the snow melted overnight so back to a patchy covering.

Made it from Barnsley to Morley took 2 blinkin hours with clear roads grrrrr.

Heavy snow when I left Dodworth on the M1, very light anything above Wakey.

looks like 3/5 cm widely. I must say the GFS was spot on from what I can see

this morning possibly slightly overcooked on the earlier runs but well spotted days before

dunno what's going on with the ppn but it's just appearing over Derby/ Notts and heading straight in our direction.

Still snowing here, it's well covered where the car was this morning, and traffic on the main road is really starting to slow down now

Well if its not modification from north sea temps scuppering our snow chances...

I thought we were in with a chance with this coming from the west.

Apparently not... 2C and rain.

Could count the snowflakes on one hand from this damp, sorry... cold spell.

Still great to see the majority got some good snowfall. Enjoy guys!!

roads down in the bottom here (main road oxspring - peni) are starting to cover - the traffic's slowing to a trickle. Hope it's not gonna be too bad to get home. esp. with you being up on the top of the hill!

Snowing quite heavy here in Wakefield, and watching the radar it has hardly moved for the last few hours, could be in for a while this :-)

Snowing quite heavily in Leeds up near the university although i can't see much of outside so no idea if it's settling. Back home in Bramley it's apparently hammering it down (so says the wife).

Sleet since about 05:30 this morning which is sometimes a bit snowier, sometimes rainier. This has had a deleterious effect on our existing snow cover but it has made everything unbelievably slushy and slick. DPs have hovered just above freezing (0.3°C at present but has been down to 0.1°C in the last hour) with the air temp 1 degree above that. Unbelievably marginal but just on the wrong side. Looking at the DPs and the amount of snow flakes I can see as I look out the window there is a clear correlation and I would guess that if the temperature went down 0.4°C, it would turn to snow here. No doubt it will be all snow on the Wolds, so I decided to work at home today.

Very interesting (if horrible!) weather today.

Well done all of you who have got/are getting snow. Might be a wait till the next batch I fear....

Been snowing heavily for over an hour now. If this had fallen a few hours go we would have had a snow day. Paths and roads now covered where as earlier they were fairly clear. Hope this lasts a bit longer. :)

Well the weather gods are smiling on upper Longwood, Huddersfield (162m asl)-CHUCKING it down with big fat flakes of snow. G/F works at New College-about 40 metres higher up-even worse there! Setting-at least 2-3 inches  here. Would gusess higher areas of Hudds like Outlane/Scapegoat hill & the a640 trans pennine rout to rochdale will be very bad! Day off tomorrow & as forecast to be sunny & very cold I feel a nice walk on the moors will be just the ticket!

Just half an inch here, but that does make 10 days this winter with some snow falling, even if it is only the second day with a proper covering.

The heavy stuff has hit here now. Anywhere that is on the Pennines proper today from us southwards, seems to be getting a pasting today. Line of heavy snow from us all the way down to West of Sheffield, and its been there all morning.

Can well see the schools shutting round here :(

Also heard its heavyish in Keighley as well, which is bizarre given its rare they have it heavy, due to their geography (surrounded by big hills which take all the snow).

Looks like some heavy showers have formed over Nottingham and will be making their way up over parts of Yorkshire (Doncaster/Wakefield/Leeds?) later on. Will fall as rain/moderate/heavy snow depending on altitude.
