Just went out to make sure the motorbike is well secured to its ground anchor. Thankfully it is positioned facing east to west so shouldn't take the full brunt of the wind. Disabled the motion sensor alarm as it would be going off all night. Though the wind might get that loud it could easily drown out 110 decibels!

Been pretty quiet here so far (probably because we're sheltered from SWerly winds by the Lomonds) but the winds just starting to get up now, just 35mph gust the highest so far here. 66mph gust recorded on Blackford Hill https://twitter.com/SeanBattySTV/status/553328937414455296

Looks pretty bad for the Western Isles too at the moment, 60 (gusting 84mph) on Benbecula and 62mph (gusting 85mph) on South Uist:

EZY6942 gone around at EDI airport, possibly about to divert to Manchester.

Edit: Cleared to land by ATC..let's see..

Edit: Landed @48kts wind blowing

Just curious where you get the ATC feed? Be interesting to link into if it's available but I'm suspecting it's not public?

Drumochter taking a pasting by the looks of the Web Cam on traffic Scotland :)

Aye the Slochd is the same, and a few miles up the road it's wet snow here and absolutely wild with it. Torches ready for the morn. Maybe should have clarted some cleaning products on the windows/ the car, sensing quite a wash through the night..

Here's one to watch for EDI as the winds increase quite dramatically around these parts. Gusting 55kts at the airport now.

Is that not one of the Royal Mail flights? I wonder where they would divert or would it just fly back to EMA?

AWC16U, another RM flight from Stansted inbound to EDI

Only just starting to get a bit breezier here but nothing out of the norm yet. Off to bed and we'll see how things are in the morning but a pity I'll probably sleep through most of it.

It's been pretty blowy for a good couple of hours but the gusts are steadily strengthening. I presume once the front has cleared things will get even more lively. Potentially violent conditions after midnight which in my opinion should be severe enough for a red warning. It's going to be a long night and hopefully everyone stays safe.

The house is now shaking the wind is so strong, although we are exposed here(and a new build). Can't imagine what it's like on the western Isles!

Left the weather station Console downstairs so not sure on gusts altho it will be under reading as it's on a fence ..

What a racket out there now! Dog has already jumped in the bed and I think the kids won't be too far behind.

Getting noisy here, strongest gusts so far pouring through, thanks for the ATC link. Will be interesting to see how this Jet2 flight gets on as it's gusting here stronger than Dublin at present.
