I will go one step further , looking at the models ThunderSnow looks a very real possibility in West Wales this weekend, with snow even settling , as Im sure there will be some very strong convection with that bitter airmass coming over a relatively warm sea surface.... :yahoo:  :yahoo:  :yahoo:

Wind is really picking up here. They must be expecting some severe winds tonight as the Flintshire bridge will be closed from 6 this evening. Think it's only ever been closed twice before.

Anyone know when this storm will peak? It's blowing a hooley here now, with flickering lights, so just want to be prepared. Also posting this on the Barney thread.

Hmmm, sounds wild out there, but power held fine (thanks SP). On reflection we have had much much worse and power outages in the past. Our part of the valley runs South to North , with wind coming over the hill behind us from west we were fairly protected.

Hope Y'all stay safe.

Cooling down process has started we may should see falling snow Saturday but settling snow is uncertain 12_42_preciptype.png?cb=574, with normal temperatures returning next week with another cold shot on the cards, for a week Saturday h500slp.pnguksnowrisk.png

Quiet in here considering we are about to get our first cold spell! Though im expecting to be too far south/west and low down to see any snow, it will be nice to have some cold air and frost for a change! Just hope we have many more cold spells throughout the winter!!

Still a possibility of seeing some snowflakes start turning to snow in north Wales around midnight .Colder air pushes south  Intersting weather coming up at front moves west to east further sleet/snow12_18_preciptype.png?cb=256

Very wet snow falling consistently now. Further inland and mountain tops should be getting a good covering.

There seems to be a streamer setting up off Anglesey and heading Southeast with the Valleys' name on it, almost like December 17th 2010 all over again! (that's if it was ten degrees colder).

The fact that it's snowing heavily and starting to settle here is a good signal for the rest of the night.

Nasty little prolonged effort here in Gilfach Bargoed - nearly 30 minutes now, temperature down to 1°C.

So I get to see snow in November but yet the winter will slowly whittle away and no more to be seen!
