Think it's gonna be a bit too east for my locale, think east mids are going to be ok and Sheffield as per usual.

Yep, but it's still stuck on 18:45  :nonono:

Perhaps give Rain-Alarm.com a go? Better than nothing.

Not all of the East Midlands have done well today. I have had very little lying snow, the 1-2cm that did lie from a heavy shower around 1pm melted soon after, so we have just a few patches now. Most of the showers have missed here. Areas to the north such as Sheffield and Chesterfield looked to be in the sweet spot with up to a foot being reported over higher parts.

I guess it depends on your perspective.

Quite a few posters here would consider 1 - 2cm as doing well... I certainly would :p

Yes in Nottingham perhaps a cm in the hillier parts but nothing much in the lower parts. It does seem that showers generally miss the Nottingham area streaming just to the north of just to the south quite often in all seasons. Some might bemoan luck but clearly there are topographical reasons at play

Later tonight does appear to offer some chances here if the precipitation maintains its track though a high degree of uncertainty remains

Hello all, Had countless snowshowers today on my travels around the mids. At dusk time, the cloud formations were amzaing to the south. Could be on for a few streamers thanks the the ol' Chesire gap tonight, disipating then forming snow showers continuing SSE tho but who knows!

I think we are all waiting to see where that heavy precipitation between N.Ireland and NW Scotland goes.

Could be a long night for those staying up late.

I would if it had stuck around. Can't complain though as I did do okay from the Boxing Day event. I think we are all overdue a widespread snowfall that is not marginal and provides a white blanket for the whole region. Maybe next week, the cold looks to be in place so it's a start :)
