The uppers show we're still ok and the uppers are growing colder from the north, so it should all be snow. I can't see a warm sector except out in the north sea??

I had a drive up into the Peak District today. Around 6 inches of snow generally but looks to have drifted deeper in parts with exposure. Ended up walking around Castleton. Here thee was about a foot of snow over fields and paths but higher up there were areas with no snow but other areas with snow over knee deep, clear indication that snow was drifting as it fell. Temperatures managed to rise up to 2c this afternoon even up in the Peaks with the snow thawing slightly.

Really heavy here for the last 15 minutes, enough to put a cm down already. Nothing showing on rain today though!

Despite clear skies and the NW air flow, temp still above freezing at 1.7C. I'm hoping it will cool as the night progresses and the colder air moves in.

Might be looking more than a tad interesting on the MO thread ... Let's see what the 18z brings.

Good to hear reports of snow hopefully if a a more organised area of precip moves south that is also snow. Gfs been fairly accurate as has nmm so keep a close on them from 930 for the updates :)

Showers starting to become a bit more numerous to our northwest again. Not for everywhere though. They don't look on track for here for example. But I think some of us in this area should start looking out for wintry showers of varying types over the next hour or two.

Meanwhile...turned very icy indeed out there.

Again the NNM's have the PPN coming down from the Northwest and also the timing is right as it starts to pep up :)

Another couple of snow showers have turned the road white again here, only about 1cm deep though.
