Not sure whether anything will head my way. Staying up to see what happens!

Very elevated, barely any rain. Passing to our West towards the Llandegla moors. Moving fast as well, more flashes to the South East so maybe some more action soon.

Looking increasingly like an MCS that cluster over the NW.

The NE England supercell seems to have waned a little bit and split as it heads north of Newcastle and gets whiff of the North Sea, but it certainly packed a punch, with golf ball-sized basil reported on twitter along with reports of funnel clouds.

Lightning overlay shows where it started off, SEly upslope flow on the eastern side of the Pennines perhaps the trigger north of Skipton before trundling NNE west of Darlington towards Newcastle

There must have been strong SREH with the NNE storm movement and E or SE SFC flow, so certainly capable of as tornado.

Pretty lively over NW England now though ...

Another Biscay Cam for THAT storm

Storm has not arrived on this cam yet

This should be a good cam for viewing when the storm arrives http://www.viewsurf.com/univers/plage/vue/13740-france-poitou-charentes-saint-trojan-les-bains-live

Estofex got it dead on today, its a shame they didnt get it right last time when us southerners were under a good warning. The shield holds strong here in SW Hertfordshire.

Pretty spectacular IC lightning from my vantage point, on the dry-edge of the cell allowing views of the building TCU aswell as lightning forks splitting across the sky. Lost count after 30 just how many there was.

The first storm here since last August and it's a cracker. I counted 15 strikes a minute from the first cell over to the west about 40 mins ago and 22 a minute from this second one that's just gone overhead. There must have been many many hundreds in total, more than the last couple of years put together.

Yeah, saw some good lightning from those cells near Manchester. We might not get anything but I suppose this is a nice second best - especially on a warm night. My eyes are turning to tomorrow.

Uplifts within these storms are 25m/s, so explosive is a understatement. Still plenty of CAPE for more cells to 'tap' into through the night.

More cells developing around us here if you look at radar, if it taps into energy NW could get a second round?
