There's a mass of cloud over the channel islands that has been getting progressively larger and shows -50 deg cloud tops.

The shower that has developed north of Le Havre is very promising, that to me is the best sign, as any storms that develop in this area have bigger potential for becoming severe.

What height should we be looking at for the dorection of ppm tonight? 500hpa? 700hpa? 850hpa?

Yes I can see too, I'm waiting for that humid feel to the air though feels a bit fresh outside atm.

I agree,the wind seems to be from the north though,but yes it is pleasantly cool.
