Calmed down as the initial cell has passed. The main rain band still to come.

Building up as it moves away from here as per normal. One flash close by and another rumble to the north east of me.

 

always seems to be the case for Sheffield doesnt it. The storms always seem to be more east. Is it the fact that were on the downslope of the pennines today and most frequently?

 

We did well Friday as the wind was more S than W for a change!

This storm isnt directly over head but some good flashes of lightning, seems to be moving west to east to the south of me.

that second band really is developing fast towards Birmingham. Lets hope it continues as it pushes in

Interesting comparing Nexstorm and lightning 2000 software. Nexstorm struggling while lightning 2000 has picked up the storms pretty well and tracked them well. It's even picked up the one to the sw of us which isn't bad considering how close the ones to N are.

Some very torrential rain here - and now just had a CC strike with thunder.

Band of showers to the south might give something thundery to Derby/Notts and southwards, but the northern edge is weakening.

Love the definition between the clear sky to my SW and the storm to my NE. Completely clear slot coming up n the sun is back out.
