Hm.. seems like the torrential rain we had here has developed into a proper line of storms as it cleared east of here. Just our luck really, lol.

well the southern band may not have been electrified but it sure did for the temperature, a 9C drop in 10 minutes, from 25.1C to 16.1C, very gusty wind and a brief burst of moderate rain.

I go away for a while and look what happens :yahoo: The sun comes out and look what I have coming from the SW!  Time to walk the dog: I will take my camera as there might be some good cloud shots from Westwood,

Just had a moderate and briefly heavy shower here, no thunder though again! It looked and felt very thundery before the shower.

Hope some lucky folk in the north-east get photos of the squall line. Looks very impressive on radar.

My brothers just arrived in his TT, away out to get on that squall. With structure as amazing as that which is about to hit York, this is certainly not one to miss. Be back with plenty of photos..

Looks like perfect timing for that trough to hit the NE with maximum heating etc.

A very sharp change in wind direction associated with that trough around the Leeds area.

T+L here now with heavy rain.Looks like a line of thundery showers crossing the Midlands W to E as well as the Pennine squall line further north..

As well as the long narrow line of rain and lightning stretching from Lincolnshire to Cumbria we also have some heavy rain and lightning strikes in the midlands

We very mistakenly decided to go out on a cycle ride at 1430. The sun was scorching, nothing threatening on the horizon. As we were at our farthest point from home, almost daytime darkness, torrential rain and gusty wind. Sheltered in a golf club. Set off again only to have to crouch behind a dry stone wall to shelter from three pretty close CG strikes. Got back cold, wet, and bedraggled, but it was all good fun! Third storm in less than a week...

Well Derby missed out on both bands and it has remained bone dry. That squall line feature moving into the NE looks impressive on radar and also from underneath it looking at the photos.

Ok went out and watched a gust front develop into a beautiful arcus which was joined to another arcus on a cell to the south. In total there were four cells spitting out CGs and you could hear thunder from all directions. Storm is just getting overhead now as the shelf has just passed. Will upload some piccies of the best arcus I have ever seen a little later.
