Wind getting stronger and stronger, well in to the 60mph range. My sister stays in Drumchapel (an area around Glasgow for those who don't know) and is reporting cars floating up and down the street! Thank god she stays in a flat!!

From flood waters not the wind I assume?...:cc_confused:

Relentless rainfall and winds continue to increase with gusts into the mid 60's now...

Red warning extended up to the Scottish Borders

Issued at: 1515 on Sat 5 Dec 2015

Valid from: 1520 on Sat 5 Dec 2015

Valid to: 0600 on Sun 6 Dec 2015

Heavy and persistent rain currently affecting the warning area is expected to become heavier during Saturday afternoon before clearing southwards during the early hours of Sunday. In view of flooding and further disruption to transport being expected, take action to remain safe and protect property. Keep up to date with the latest flood warnings from the EA and SEPA on their websites.

Chief Forecaster's assessment

A slow-moving frontal system is bringing a prolonged spell of heavy rain and strong winds. For the rest of Saturday and the early hours of Sunday further rainfall totals in excess of 150 mm are expected locally over some prone mountainous areas in Cumbria whilst parts of the Borders can locally expect in excess of 60 mm rain. Given saturated conditions and high river levels from recent rainfall, further flooding is expected.
