agreed not a bad day and certainly an improvement on yesterday's cold rain.

Hopefully a few dry days on the cards and temperatures nudging up a bit so shouldn't feel too bad over the weekend.

2 horrendous days recently here, 17th Feb and 9th March, reminded me a bit of 'child of Nadine'

Spring's on its way and probably plenty of grit to use up.

its is pretty cold though so maybe a bit icy overnight.

Absolutely gorgeous today!  now  10.5°C . A  taster for next week.

Off to Bury and Summerseat for the east  Lancashire railway spring steam gala tomorrow. I hope that  decaying front doesn't spoil things.

Not a bad day today, dry with hazy sunshine and feeling ok in that sun but still a bit nippy in the shade.... typical March conditions. Looks like a continuation of this for some time looking at the models. Good opportunity to tidy outside and get other jobs done around the house. Not really a fan of Spring or Autumn I don't find them all that interesting compared to Winter and Summer. So my interest in the weather gets put on a bit of a back burner for a while now.

An amazing day.

Min temp overnight:   0.3°C.

Max today: 11.6°C.

Currently: 9.0°C.

One of the largest diurnal ranges (11.3°C) in a long time, I think since last September.

Just back home from a decent mornings walk.

a bit hazy so views were not that extensive but it was pleasant enough and with hardly a breath of wind, it certainly felt warm

there are still the tiniest remnants of last weekend's snow on the tops but the main thing is the wetness underfoot, everything is saturated and the reservoirs are full to capacity so let's hope for a long dry spring and summer and hopefully without the threat of restrictions.

The opposite over here.

a dry and bright morning has gone downhill into cloudy skies, misty on the tops and drizzle on and off.

A better day today than yesterday's cloudy one.  The sun's already has it's hat on and should be a decent St Paddy's day parade in Manchester later.

Looking dry for the next 7-10 days, just in time for it to go pear shaped at Easter no doubt.

Pleasant start to the day but still quite cloudy, min overnight was 7.6c, currently 9.4c. Looking dry for the next week at least so great for getting out and about. Really need to give the grass it's first cut of the spring!

Gorgeous day today. Amazing that only 8 days ago I was cycling to work through horrible wet snow.

Got plenty of chores done inside and outside over the weekend, hope the dry weather lasts for a while.

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics
