Some heavier bits pepped up by the Irish Sea look to be heading this way soon.

Has it turned to rain or has it stopped?, I cant tell.

I only said it because on the PPN type radar, the Green area is mighty close, all the Heavy PPN has missed us to the East, my prediction was it would miss us to the West!!

Most (only) snow we've had on the ground here since 2010, the kids are happy they've made a small snowman and we've been for a wander in the snow as well.  Now slight grapule falling.

There is every chance, liverpool airport have it changing to snow anywhere from 8/10pm onwards.

Hi have you heard that from your friend, as the TAF just says "PROB30 RASN" throughout? I hope we get lucky anyway. :-)

PROB30? that confirms how knife edge this is, it suggests they knew it might all run eastwards.

Plenty of energy behind the front. It's back building but it's still rain.

Theres a differncial in the size of the flakes, I think if the PPN rates pep of again it will be alright, no melt yet because temp is so near to freezing

it was his thoughts that despite the initial forecast, that there was a chance for some snow later.  I remain unconvinced. These temperatures and dp's are just too high, the upper air isn't helping matters either.  -5C, I have yet to see any snow fall at that upper air temp.  here we normally require -8c/-9C probably because of the affect the irish sea. suspect if things do not improve in the next few hourts, then its going to be rain showers throughout.

Well the milder uppers will pretty much condemn the chance of snow this far west.. more likely to get ice pellets or freezing rain there.

T=0.8C, dew point is now below zero. And it's raining still

Well it's still half a degree below freezing here and dry albeit small flakes.
