Very interesting watching the radar, there's precious moving NW-SE but also SW-NE

I haven't a foggiest about weather, I'm mainly a lurker.

but on the radar it looks more like Leeds, Sheffield etc are in for all the snow.

im east Manc and had snizzle for the past hour.

Looks like its snowing here, tiny snowflakes only visible with the security light. Either that or I've deluded myself into thinking drizzle is snow. Temperature falling now, currently 1.8c.

Good to hear Cumbria is getting some good falls. This is moving towards us quite fast.

An hour of moderate to heavy snow will do for me to be honest.

Great to hear it is snowing around us - all day rain here (well, from 10am to 4pm), in 2C, disgusting weather. What kind of high pressure and sunshine the whole BBC was taking about just 48 hours ago for today? LOL

I think southern and eastern parts of the region might get a bit of a battering soon. Those snow showers over Cumbria/North Lancashire seem to have merged together into a bit more of a prolonged area of moderate to heavy snow.

My thoughts also, definitely merging and slightly intensifying and now heading through. Great developments, and still snowing here anyway. Exciting times!

Not a bad day all things considered , apart from Chelski's dodgy offside cheating equaliser (I'm not bitter)

Been in Maryport all day and there was heavy snow and about 1cm of snow there literally right on the beach come back to Egremont and there's a very very slight dusting on pavements, quite disappointed really but Euro4 still has snow till midnight at least so you never know we might manage a dusting.

The line of snow over the Pennines has stalled and is now travelling NW to SE. The stuff in Cumbria will hopefully follow suit.

Really? I can't see it. The drizzly precipitation around here is even moving SW-NE!

I just hope its heavier enough to lower the dp's around here, otherwise there is going to be some crying soon from some people.

Dry here at the moment but temperatures are still just below freezing so our 4cm of snow is still intact.

i just hope the showers heading down from the north can actually cross over here instead of heading into Yorkshire as a top up would do nicely.
